På det bevarade korr. har Strindberg skrivit: "Önskas tredje korr. för att få se det slutets udd icke blir avbruten genom felaktig sättning. Sg." (I korr. är slutordet Bosch! skrivet i ett stycke med det föregående.) Först i tredje korrekturet har slutet alltså fått sin nuvarande form.
