Borg såg  honom för att utröna om det var ironi, men där syntes intet

-- Jaså, sade Sellén, Olle har gått att söka sällare jaktmarker; ja, han
har det nog bra, han; nu slipper han väl middagsbekymmerna. Jag undrar
vad källarmästarn  Knappen ska säga om det här; han hade visst en
liten »lapp», som han kallade det! Ja! Ja!

-- Vilken hjärtlöshet, vilken råhet! Fy fan sådan ungdom! utbröt Falk,
kastade pengar  bordet och tog  sina kläder.

-- Är du sentimental? hånade Sellén.

-- Ja, det är jag! Adjö!
