Däremot hade Falk ingenting att invända, utan stängde byrån och följde de två ner till källaren Stjärnan på Österlånggatan, där de slogo sig ner i den mörkaste vrån. -- Nej, se brännvin! sade den tjocka, och hans brustna öga tindrade mot brännvinsflaskan. Men Falk, som följt med, mera för att få deltagande och tröst, fäste icke tillbörlig uppmärksamhet på de erbjudna saligheterna. -- Jag har icke känt mig så olycklig på länge! sade han.
