kring hennes hals.

Hon ögnade flyktigt här och der  de fullskrifna bladen, men  blef
intresset henne öfvermäktigt.

»----När jag kom hem satt mor  sin stol och skref. Jag blef  glad för
det att jag kysste henne  kinden. Hon är  knuten fast till allt,
slingrad in i vårt lif under dessa tre månader--och hvad hon varit för
oss, det vet du lika godt som jag. Jag har aldrig förr hållit af henne,
tycker jag. Hon gaf mig allt men jag hade ingenting att ge. Ingenting
till någon menniska i verlden; jag bara tog emot, återgäldade ingenting,
