den kvinnas motstånd, som han älskade. Med ett ord: hon var nyfiken 
förförelsens teknik. Den var nästan det enda inom facket som ännu låg
utom hennes erfarenhet.

Derför hade det nästan varit henne en missräkning att William ännu
aldrig gjort något steg i den riktningen. Med afseende  hans gryende
känslor såg hon redan  detta stadium betydligt skarpare än han sjelf;
men just derför kunde hon icke förstå hans tillbakadragenhet.
